Itchin' and a Scratchin' 1

Writer: Kathy Winkler StudioKathy Winkler Studio

This lovely, aged Longhorn cow looked so graceful “itchin’ and scratchin’” along the barbed wire fence, as she glided back and forth trying to ease her discomfort of a coat ready to shed on the cusp of spring. Longhorns know every inch of where their horns are, no matter how long or what looks like a cumbersome “hood” ornament. The horns on this longhorn are called the Texas twist. Their horns grow their entire lives.
