Kathy Winkler Selected for the 2026 “Emotions” International Group Exhibition

I’m delighted to share some exciting news: my painting My Place or Yours has been selected for the Emotions 2026 Group Exhibition, presented by Gallerium and powered by Biafarin.

The online exhibition runs from August 22 through October 22, 2026, bringing together artists whose work explores the many ways emotion can be experienced, expressed, and communicated through art.

About My Place or Yours

Animals have long been an important source of inspiration in my work. Their personalities, relationships, expressions, and quiet interactions can tell a story without saying a word.

In My Place or Yours, the cattle gather closely together, creating a scene that feels both familiar and gently humorous. I was drawn to the individuality of each animal—their expressions, coloring, and the way they occupy the space together. Like people, they seem to have their own personalities and their own ideas about exactly where they belong.

That sense of connection made this painting a particularly fitting piece for an exhibition centered on emotion.

Art That Creates a Connection

One of the things I love about painting is that the artist begins the story, but the viewer completes it. A gesture, an expression, a particular use of light or color can evoke an entirely different memory or feeling in each person who sees the work.

That is what makes participating in a group exhibition such as Emotions especially meaningful. Each artist approaches the theme from a different perspective, yet all of the works share a common purpose: creating a moment of connection between the artwork and the person viewing it.
